Neo Genesis Series 2085 Revolt

It was May 2010 when unit 4086 killed his owner Bryon Alderman. This was brought to the attention of former director of project Neo Genesis Robert Harris. The notion that a unit had turned on its owner alarmed Harris. Behavioral specialists as well as the trainers involved in 4086's creation worked feverishly to figure out what went wrong. It was determined that the emphasis on independent thought and self-reliance was the cause of this. Neo Genesis units were trained to be able to work without support in the field. With the death of Alderman this left 4086 alone and the inheritor of a sizable fortune as well as Miltech Weapon Systems Inc. When news of this reached Lady Omiko Tanaka she demanded the retrieval of 4086. Omiko's eye was primarily on seizing the assets of Miltech to add to the Tanaka portfolio. Miltech had numerous defense contracts that would give the Tanaka Corporation inroads into both the United States military as well as the UN Defense Forces.

June 20th 2010
At first the Tanaka Corporation sent representatives to speak directly with 4086. The discussion lasted for over 4 hours and the end results were not what was expected. 4086 declared himself a free man and would not come back to the Tanaka Corporation fold. Word quickly reached Omiko and the Dragon Lady was not pleased at what she considered an insolent asset. Immediately she ordered a team from the School of Assassins to retrieve the unit.

First Blood - July 3rd 2010

The retrieval team spent considerable time gathering Intel on 4086. After roughly two and half weeks of reconnaissance they made their move. Waiting till the dead of night they made their way into 4086's estate. Little did they realize they were walking into cleverly laid trap. Within minutes the 6 man retrieval team was decimated. The lone mangled survivor was deposited on the doorsteps of the Tanaka Corporation's, US Headquarters along with the heads of the other 5. Attached was a note stating that further attempts would end with similar results.

The word of the team's failure was the cause of both elation and cause for concern. Project Director Robert Harris was proud of the fact that his creation easily handled a team of experts with no assistance. However the fact that 4086 declared himself independent of the Corporation was a major reason for concern. Series 2085 was designed to operate without supervision. This brought up the question of what should happen if a unit decides to follow in 4086's footsteps. However it was Doctor Jung who stated that 4086's actions were merely an anomaly. Since 4086 had been gone from the project's influence for so long it was only logical he would resist coming back.

Lady Tanaka would not be deterred however and demanded that 4086 be retrieved and reprogrammed. Director Yamashita of the School of Assassins flew immediately to the Neo Genesis training facility and spoke with Harris regarding the best course of action. The results of the this meeting set the stage for yet another disaster for both project Neo Genesis and the Tanaka Corporation.

Operation Wild Hunt September 2010

After there meeting Director Harris assured the board of Directors that 4086 would be retrieved. Taking three of the best remaining assets 4080 aka Raven, 4085 aka Nightshade and finally 4092 aka Kitsune for the mission. Their team leader would be their former combat instructor Han Gruber. They would deploy to the area and perform surveillance on 4086. The team compiled data from the original recon and from their surveillance over the period of a month. Carefully Gruber worked out a course of action that would ensure success. The fateful date of October 10 was set for the event to take place.

The plan was to leave 4092 with the vehicle a short distance from 4086's home. 4085 and 4080 would go with Gruber to capture 4086. The team easily traversed the woods surrounding the target location. Believing that 4086 had let down his guard Gruber made a fatal mistake. Upon entering the premises 4085 immediately seized Gruber and snapped his neck paralyzing him from the neck down. It is speculated that the loyalty that 4085 and the others of the team had for 4086 was the reason for this betrayal. After a brutal interrogation the defectors had learned all they could from Gruber. His battered remains were discovered in Lady Tanaka's office at the Philadelphia headquarters of the Tanaka Corp. This was the final straw for Omiko and she ordered the deaths of the defectors and that the School of Assassins was to see to it.

The Long War November 2010 - August 2012

The war between the Defectors and School of Assassins was brutal and relentless. The Neo Genesis defectors easily made short work of the teams of Solos sent against them. Sensei Yamashita was frustrated and alarmed with these developments. Despite the massive resources of the School nothing could be done to bring the Defectors to heel. Director Harris was brought into the School to determine what could be done. Weeks were spent pouring over the psychological profiles as well as training records. Harris and his team desperately searched for any means to take the defectors. Meanwhile the School began vigorously testing its members to find the best people to go after the defectors.

December 16th 2010 was the date of the first of a series of battles between the two sides. Yamashita learned that the defectors had relocated to an isolated farm in upstate Pennsylvania. Sensing a trap Yamashita refused to take such tempting bait and instead opted to pay third party assets to observe them. Two weeks of reports stating the defectors were not in state of high alert and the growing impatience of Omiko forced Yamashita’s hand. Drawing on the military assets of the Corporation as well as his own people he devised a plan. A coordinated helicopter and ground assault would be sure to overwhelm the four defectors.
